So people come in a lot when they ask about injectable treatments for the aging face. Botox and Dysport are great for the forehead and around the eyes. They stop the movements of those muscles and improve the fine wrinkles. Fillers or dermal fillers like Restylane or Juvederm or Radiesse, they're to fill in creases like these creases, or when patients want to plump their lips a little bit, they work great for that.
When people want a bigger area volumized, meaning they want more filling in their whole cheek area and face, Sculptra is a great product for that. And what that does is it stimulates your own body's production of collagen to fill in big areas. So each of them have a place. We offer all of those services and by meeting with us, we can go over which might be your best option for what might bother you.
So Botox or Dysport to stop the movement wrinkles like in your forehead and around your eyes. Probably takes about five minutes to do. Typically, it's a very tiny needle so we don't need to numb you up, and it will be rare to even get bruising or swelling from it. The product usually lasts about four months. If you're lucky, they last six months. If it lasts less than three months, it means we didn't put enough in. I'd always rather err on the side of not putting quite enough in, rather than overtreating something because we can always check you back at two weeks, and see if we have to add a little to improve the final result.
When we're talking about fillers like Juvederm or Restylane, for instance, for lip or nasolabial folds, we do numb you up before that. So that procedure probably takes more like 20 minutes.
With the Botox and Dysport, it probably takes about a week to start to see the result, and two weeks for it to reach its peak.
With fillers, you'll see immediate improvement but probably you get a little more filling over a few days as the water gets bound into the area.
With Sculptra, it's a series of treatments. So what we do is we inject, and of each vial, you'll get three months of growth of collagen under the skin. So we space the treatments out appropriately because once they're filled in, after three months per vial, we recommend at least three vials. That result will last three years.
Related to Botox and Dysport, everybody loves it. Fillers are great. Fillers, especially if you have a certain area that bugs you like in the nasolabial fold or you want a little fuller lip, looks great, lasts typically six months to a year, and it's wonderful. People feel like they look younger, sexier. They just like it a lot.
